Membership

Carinya Society has had a strong membership base since its inception and is privileged to have a number of Honorary Life Members.

The purpose of the membership base is to guide Carinya, by electing the Board of Directors. The Board must report to the Membership (base) annually, both in financial and organisational terms. This meeting usually takes place at an Annual General Meeting of members, held annually in September.

There are two classes of Members:

  • Voting members, consisting of the Directors, Honorary Life Members, Guardians, Parents and Carers and representatives from the Community.
  • Non-voting members, consisting of Donors, Volunteers and other patrons.

Why become a member

There are many reasons you may wish to become a member of Carinya Society. Certainly, it provides an effective way to help shape the future of Carinya Society. Even if you do not have a family member who utilises our service, we would still encourage you to join us.  Perhaps you have a skill you feel may benefit Carinya Society, or you are passionate about ensuring the needs of those with disabilities are met within our community, or perhaps you feel that you could offer some support from the local community.

Becoming a member of Carinya Society is easy. Please click here to download the current membership form.

Membership costs $2.00, and is valid for 12 months (or 1 financial year.) You can join at any time throughout the year, but this would be for the subsequent financial year.
